Ludhiana Airport, officially known as the Sahnewal Airport, is situated close to a small town of Punjab-Sahnewal. The airport is located on the National Highway or the GT Road almost 5 km to the southeast of Ludhiana. It is located on a Longitude of 75' 51’ 0” East and a Latitude of 30' 54’ 0” North. The Airport Authority of India is responsible for the administration and maintenance of the Ludhiana Airport.

Situated at an elevation of 833.76 feet, Ludhiana Airport is spread in a vast area of 124.27 acres. The terminal is well capacitated to manage the arrival and departure of almost 20 flights. The dimension of the runway is 4800 X 100 feet.

The plan to expand Ludhiana Airport was forwarded in 2007 with a view to manage passenger flights. Previously, the airport was efficiently handling small - seater planes. In recent times, a plan has also been proposed to make Ludhiana Airport and international airport.
